This grip also promotes more activation of the upper back muscles, such as the upper trapezius, as the shoulder blades must elevate and retract more throughout the movement. In pull-ups, the pronated grip (palms outward) focuses on the brachialis (small elbow flexor) and latissimus dorsi (Lats) more due to the positioning of the arms and shoulders, the wider grip often used in pull-ups requires the shoulder blades to depress and retract, engaging the mid and lower trapezius to stabilize the scapula. #fitness #workout #gym #backday #coaching #personaltrainer #backday
